Turn an anomaly or a recommendation into a Jira issue in one step. The issue carries the cost detail and a link back to CostGraph. The CostGraph page then shows Open KEY-123 for that issue. CostGraph supports Jira Cloud.

Before you begin

  • A CostGraph organization owner or admin to connect Jira.
  • A Jira Cloud account that can create issues in the projects you want to use.

Connect Jira

1

Open the Jira card

In CostGraph, go to Settings > Integrations, open the Ticketing section, and select Jira. Click Connect.
2

Approve on Atlassian

Atlassian asks you to let CostGraph read your projects and create issues. Pick the Jira site to connect, then click Accept. Atlassian returns you to CostGraph.
3

Choose projects

Select the projects people may create issues in, then click Save. To change the list later, click Choose where tickets go on the card. CostGraph only creates issues in these projects.
To change the list later, open the Jira card and edit the projects.

Create an issue

  1. Open an anomaly or a recommendation.
  2. Click Create ticket and select Jira.
  3. Choose the project for the issue. CostGraph creates it and shows Open KEY-123.
Each anomaly or recommendation has at most one Jira issue. Choosing Jira again opens the existing issue instead of creating another one.

Reconnect

If CostGraph loses access to Jira, organization owners and admins get an email, and the Jira card shows Reconnect. Click Reconnect and approve on Atlassian again. Existing issue links keep working.

Disconnect

On the Jira card, click Choose where tickets go, then Disconnect. People can no longer create Jira issues from CostGraph. Issues already created stay in Jira.

Self-hosted deployments

Jira isn’t available on self-hosted deployments. Use GitHub issues instead.
