# OpenComputer sandboxes

> Run CostGraph workflows and CI jobs in OpenComputer sandboxes: the key to create, its permissions, and its limits

OpenComputer provides persistent, always-on cloud Linux VMs (sandboxes) for AI agents that keep state, can be resized at runtime, and hibernate and wake.

The following table shows what CostGraph runs on this provider.

| Workflows | CI runners | Connect with |
| - | - | - |
| Yes | No | Integrations or your own dispatcher |

CI runners: no. AutoPilot compares runners by price, and this provider publishes no sandbox price.

## Connect

Connect OpenComputer on Integrations, and CostGraph starts sandboxes in your OpenComputer account. You don't run anything yourself.

1. In CostGraph, go to **Integrations > Sandbox > OpenComputer**.

2. Enter these fields:

   * **API key** (`OPENCOMPUTER_API_KEY`, required): An OpenComputer organization API key from the OpenComputer dashboard.

3. Click **Connect**.

### Your own dispatcher

To keep the key out of CostGraph or reach a private network, run your own dispatcher instead.
Set `provider` to `opencomputer` and the preceding fields as environment variables, as described in [Run your own dispatcher](https://docs.costgraph.ai/costgraph/workflows/managed-sandboxes.md#run-your-own-dispatcher).

## Key and permissions

OPENCOMPUTER\_API\_KEY is an OpenComputer organization API key from the dashboard at app.opencomputer.dev.

keys are not scoped: 'A key belongs to an organization and reaches every project, agent and session in it.' No sandbox-specific scopes are documented. ## Limits

* Plans: Free is shared up to 2 vCPU, 2 GB memory, 3 GB disk and 5 concurrent; Medium (\$300/mo) is 8 CPU, 16 GB and 50 concurrent; Large is 64 CPU, 512 GB and 500 concurrent. ([source](https://opencomputer.dev/llms.txt))
* VMs are described as always on, with optional hibernate and wake. The current docs site publishes no sandbox lifetime, idle-hibernate timeout or architecture page; its pages cover Serverless Agents. ([source](https://docs.opencomputer.dev/llms.txt))
* The region list (us, eu, ap, us-east and others) is documented only for Serverless Agents' sandboxes; no region setting is documented for direct sandbox create. ([source](https://docs.opencomputer.dev/agents/regions.md))
