# Microsandbox sandboxes

> Run CostGraph workflows and CI jobs in Microsandbox sandboxes: the key to create, its permissions, and its limits

microsandbox cloud runs the same microsandbox microVM sandboxes on hosted infrastructure, using the same SDKs and msb CLI as local use.

The following table shows what CostGraph runs on this provider.

| Workflows | CI runners | Connect with |
| - | - | - |
| Yes | Yes | Integrations or your own dispatcher |

## Connect

Connect Microsandbox on Integrations, and CostGraph starts sandboxes in your Microsandbox account. You don't run anything yourself.

1. In CostGraph, go to **Integrations > Sandbox > Microsandbox**.

2. Enter these fields:

   * **API key** (`MSB_API_KEY`, required): A Microsandbox organization API key from the Microsandbox dashboard.
   * **API URL** (`MSB_API_URL`, optional): A different Microsandbox API address, if you do not use the default.

3. Click **Connect**.

For CI runners, CostGraph sets CPU and memory.

### Your own dispatcher

To keep the key out of CostGraph or reach a private network, run your own dispatcher instead.
Set `provider` to `microsandbox` and the preceding fields as environment variables, as described in [Run your own dispatcher](https://docs.costgraph.ai/costgraph/workflows/managed-sandboxes.md#run-your-own-dispatcher).

To see what Microsandbox costs, connect the [Microsandbox integration](https://docs.costgraph.ai/costgraph/integrations/microsandbox.md).

## Key and permissions

MSB\_API\_KEY is an organization API key (msb\_...). Create it in the dashboard at dashboard.microsandbox.dev/access/api-keys. Cloud access is in private beta and must be requested first.

keys are not scoped: an API key acts on its whole organization, which is taken from the key. The API reference documents no per-operation scopes, only org-level key versus user personal token (msb\_pat\_). ## Limits

* microsandbox cloud is in private beta and needs a request for access. ([source](https://docs.microsandbox.dev/cloud/overview.md))
* Per-sandbox maximum memory and disk, concurrent running sandboxes and total sandboxes come from the billing plan and org overrides, readable from the quota endpoint. The docs publish no fixed numbers or maximum lifetime. ([source](https://docs.microsandbox.dev/api-reference/endpoints/quotas/get-quota-usage.md))
* Lifecycle (start, stop, delete) is documented. No auto-stop or idle limit for cloud sandboxes and no region list were found. ([source](https://docs.microsandbox.dev/sandboxes/lifecycle.md))
