# Inis sandboxes

> Run CostGraph workflows and CI jobs in Inis sandboxes: the key to create, its permissions, and its limits

inis.run provides isolated Linux sandbox sessions for untrusted and AI-generated code, with persistent sessions, pause/resume and an exec API, hosted in Ireland.

The following table shows what CostGraph runs on this provider.

| Workflows | CI runners | Connect with |
| - | - | - |
| Yes | Yes | Integrations or your own dispatcher |

## Connect

Connect Inis on Integrations, and CostGraph starts sandboxes in your Inis account. You don't run anything yourself.

1. In CostGraph, go to **Integrations > Sandbox > Inis**.

2. Enter these fields:

   * **API key** (`INIS_API_KEY`, required): An inis.run API key from the inis.run dashboard.

3. Click **Connect**.

### Your own dispatcher

To keep the key out of CostGraph or reach a private network, run your own dispatcher instead.
Set `provider` to `inis` and the preceding fields as environment variables, as described in [Run your own dispatcher](https://docs.costgraph.ai/costgraph/workflows/managed-sandboxes.md#run-your-own-dispatcher).

To see what Inis costs, connect the [Inis integration](https://docs.costgraph.ai/costgraph/integrations/inis.md).

## Key and permissions

INIS\_API\_KEY is an inis.run API key, created and revoked in the dashboard at app.inis.run (or created by "inis auth login", which saves it to \~/.inis/credentials).

The provider doesn't document key scopes or roles, so a key has full access to the account.

## Limits

* max\_lifetime\_ms hard cap 24 hours (default off; when it fires the session pauses permanently). ([source](https://inis.run/docs/session-lifecycle))
* Per-exec timeout default 30 s, hard cap 1 hour; idle auto-pause off by default (cap 1 hour). ([source](https://inis.run/docs/session-lifecycle))
* Continuous-live backstop 24 hours (6 on unverified trial) force-pauses and resumes; 10 concurrent live sessions (1 on trial); 50 GB cumulative disk. ([source](https://inis.run/docs/session-lifecycle))
* Hosted in Ireland, data stays in Europe; session sizes and architecture are not documented. ([source](https://inis.run/llms.txt))
